Corrosion-Resistant Hot Plates

Corrosion-Resistant Hot Plates
Wenesco corrosion-resistant hot plates are not affected by the boiling acid  fumes and splashes that will eventually destroy conventional hotplates.
The housing and plate are treated with a proprietary coating material and is sealed to prevent fumes entering the interior

Teflon coated fittings and a corrosion-resistant flexible conduit connect the hot plate to a remote digital thermostat.
All models feature operating temperatures up to 400C with good uniformity across the plate surface.  Wenesco hot plates meet the 2-inch clearance requirement under the housing for maximum air flow.

This photo, taken at our customer's facility, shows Model HP1218CR corrosion-resistant hot plate heating various acids under a fume hood.  Wenesco's remote temperature controller is not visible, because it is safely out of the harshly corrosive environment.

Independent test on materials used on our corrosion-resistant hot plate

"200 ml of TCu digestion acid ( Nitric 65.1 to 66.5% + Hydrofluoric 0.5 to 1.5% + Potassium Chlorate 3 to 5% + H2O 27 to 31.4% ) were put into a 400-ml Teflon beaker. The coated samples were placed in the acid. This ended up having to be gradual because the mere introduction of the test pieces to the acid at room temperature started a rather vigorous bubbling action. After the bubbling subsided, the beaker was covered and brought to a boil. The flasks were removed from the heat and left for 48 hours.
"The materials tested suffered no appreciable deterioration."
